Harpenden Town Council Opens New Smart Doors With Amthal.  Amthal has installed a state-of-the-art front door entry system at Harpenden Town Council offices that interfaces with a new phone system, to create a more efficient access process and smart security solution for the benefit of staff and visitors.

Harpenden Town Council, which represents the largest parish in the St Albans District, aims to work closely with the community to promote the area as a place to live, a place to work, a place to invest and a place to visit.  Operating from Harpenden Town Hall, the Council originally sourced Amthal to install a sophisticated internal access control system to ensure the security of all who work and visit the office building. With the installation of a new cloud based telephone system, the Council once again called on the services of Amthal to recommend a compatible front door intercom system to ensure the efficient running of the office and welcome facilities for visitors.

Says Carl Cheevers, Town Clerk at Harpenden Town Council: “Harpenden Town Hall aims to deliver a ‘one stop shop’ information point for the wealth of services available in our community.  With this in mind it is essential our offices present a welcoming environment for all visitors, but this must be created without compromising on high quality protection for all our staff on site.

“Here is where having Amthal, as a local security support has made all the difference.  Not only do they understand our working environment, but also are always on call to respond quickly to maintain our existing access control system within the building and offer advice on new solutions such as the new door entry system, that can help us efficiently enhance our service offering to the community.”

David Williamson, Account Manager at Amthal added: “Harpenden Town Council like every local authority has a duty of care to its workforce as well as its community, and must continue to consider ways to ensure their continued safety and security whilst at work.  This is where working with a local trusted brand like Amthal, with proven experience to deliver on all security and maintenance needs, can provide total and ongoing peace of mind.”

Public Sector Testimonials

I would like to pass on my grateful thanks to you for the way that your company responded to a call for assistance yesterday to investigate and repair a defective Entry System on our Children's Ward, here at Stoke Mandeville.  The original installing company were called out to investigate the system but failed to identify any specific fault or carry out a repair which ultimately left the unit vulnerable. I initially contacted Richard Collette who as always was extremely helpful and was ever mindful of the urgency required in ensuring that the Children's Ward must be secure. Within a short time he confirmed that you were able to send an engineer to site. Your engineer, Phil Bryant arrived on site and immediately set about the task of 'fault finding' which I had not seen the other company engineer undertake in quite a methodical way. I am pleased to say that Phil identified the problem and rectified it to the delight of the Nursing Staff who had up until then, had to supervise the insecure door. Phil even took the time to fully explain what had gone wrong and what to look for in the future should a similar fault occur. All in all, an excellent job well done.

Amthal worked with Interserve during the pre-construction phase to advise the client on the alterations to reduce costs and provide an efficient system for management of the building. They have provided a high level of workmanship and have been very helpfully in providing advice and solutions where issues have occurred. We have found them to be a good value for money sub-contractor and would be happy to employ them on future projects.

We are a very large NHS Trust and have used Amthal for eight years now to provide our CCTV and Access Control requirements completing installations and maintenance support to all security equipment installed across the trust. Their response times to requests are extremely prompt, and where required will attend within hours to our clinical areas, we rarely have to wait more than 24 hours for any 'non-urgent' requests. The standard of work is extremely high and the engineering staff who undertake the installations do so with care and professionalism, often having to undertake installations in 'live' clinical areas where greater consideration towards staff and patients has to be paramount.  I reviewed a number of Security Companies profiles prior to selecting Amthal as our security provider, the main over-riding consideration in retaining Amthal for this amount of time is the standard of service that the company provide, which for us has been extremely high.
