Amthal Fire & Security is celebrating after Commercial Director Jamie Allam won the Business Leader Category at this year’s St Albans District Chamber of Commerce Community Business Awards.
The award was presented to Jamie, who has been at Amthal Fire & Security since 2008, in recognition of an ability to lead the fire and security specialist on an ambitious growth plan, whilst maintaining its core as a local community business.
The St Albans District Chamber of Commerce Community Business Awards is open to all whose business strategy encompasses policies and projects that have a positive impact on St Albans District. The activities should bring about economic, social or environmental benefits for the community.
The Business Leader of the Year award recognises specifically the key role that a business leader (director/partner or equivalent level position) plays within an organisation. The emphasis is not only on individual achievement but also that of the organisation the business leader supports, including the vision, culture, performance, corporate governance, leadership and CSR achievements of that organisation.
Paul Rosenthal of the St Albans Chamber of Commerce said: “Jamie is a worthy winner of the Business Leader Award 2015. Understanding individual capability within the family business, Jamie, with the support of the management team has led the team at Amthal Fire & Security on an ambitious five year growth plan, incorporating all aspects of the business, from operations, through sales and commercial targets, with obvious results. The team and the company under their leadership is an inspiration to the St Alban’s Business community.”
Jamie Allam added: “The Chamber Awards has continued to evolve with the growing and vibrant landscape of the St Albans’ Business community. As a whole they showcase the exciting times ahead for us all and the new categories bring new opportunities for a host of inspirational services and leaders to be recognised at the highest level.
“I was deeply honoured to be shortlisted and would like to commend the four other Finalists. But to be chosen as winner is due to the team at Amthal Fire & Security. Together we are dedicated to maintaining our routes as an independently owned family business in the heart of the St Alban’s community. Even as we grow and welcome new members to enable our growth strategy to come to life, this sentiment remains core to our mission, vision and values.”
