Fire, Emergency and Security Systems Technicians Apprenticeship
Field Based - London and home counties
Applicants should reside within 10 miles of St Albans Hertfordshire.
Applicants are required to travel to Harlow to attend collage one day a week.
In line with Amthal’s continued growth plans the company continues to expand, as a result we have a highly rewarding opportunity available within a fun and friendly environment for apprentice fire & security engineers, the positions will cover installation, servicing and fault-finding elements of our industry via training which will be provided by a combination of onsite working with experienced fire and security professionals, product manufacture training and demonstrations, Amthal’s in-house training sessions and a qualification in the new Fire, Emergency and Security Systems apprenticeship standard at Level 3 on college block release. The apprenticeship is supported by the SSAIB, the FSA, the BSIA, the FIA and the NSI
There are four different pathways to suit both the apprentices and also Amthal – core modules are included alongside additional relevant units to help you to become a high quality engineer across security, fire, fire and emergency lighting and fire and security. Four-fifths of the training during the 36-month apprenticeship will come through experience and mentoring acquired ‘on the job’, while the other 20% will be knowledge-based. The final part of the programme is an End Point Assessment (EPA), which is a two-day test that can be taken at any point within the last 12 weeks of the apprenticeship.
The successful candidate must have be honest, reliable, good timekeeper, self-motivated team player and poses the following skills problem-solving, practical skills, accurate and methodical approach and a good communicator.
On completion of the apprenticeship a permanent position will be available as a service or installation engineer following which further progression within the business will be possible into various different departments within the business.
Skills for Security
Level 3 apprenticeship in Fire, Emergency and Security Systems.
Functional skills will be offered where required.
